This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
From the very beginning, my goal is to make this process feel simple, relaxed, and meaningful for your family. These early days move quickly, and I believe they deserve to be preserved in a way that feels both beautiful and honest.
Each session is thoughtfully guided while still leaving room for genuine connection and natural moments to unfold.
My Process
1.inquire & planning
Once you reach out, we'll discuss session details, pricing, and available dates to find the best fit for your family. Because only a limited number of sessions are accepted each month, a signed agreement and retainer are required to officially reserve your date. After booking, I'll send over a short questionnaire along with a newborn preparation guide and styling guide to help you feel fully prepared for your session.
These guides cover everything from wardrobe coordination for parents to preparing your space and baby so the session feels calm and effortless.
For sleepy, curled newborn portraits, sessions are ideally photographed within the first two weeks after birth. During this stage, babies tend to sleep more deeply and settle more easily into those soft, peaceful moments many families love. However, every season of newborn life is beautiful. Older newborn sessions are always welcomed, and are best suited for more connection-focused family imagery where baby-led interaction naturally leads the session.
2.Your session
Newborn sessions take place in the comfort of your home and are calm, baby-led, and unhurried. Sessions typically last around 3-4 hours.
I bring professional lighting equipment along with a curated selection of newborn outfits and wraps designed to keep your images soft, neutral, and cohesive. This allows us to create a refined, intentional look while still keeping your baby comfortable and your session stress-free.
Rather than rushing through poses, I gently guide you while focusing on connection, softness, and the small in-between moments that often become the most treasured.
I'll help simplify spaces and create imagery that feels timeless, intimate, and true to your family.
3.Image Selection
After your session, you'll receive a curated proof gallery where you'll select your favorite images based on the collection you've chosen. Additional images and artwork may also be added to your gallery if desired.
Once image selections and artwork choices are finalized you will receive your invoice after which I will begin carefully editing each chosen image with attention to tone, detail, and consistency.
4.Artwork & Delivery
Your photographs deserve more than a life on a screen.
In addition to digital images, I offer heirloom-quality artwork including lay-flat albums and matted fine art prints designed to preserve your family's story in a tangible way. These pieces are created to be held, displayed and passed down for years to come.
Once image selections and artwork choices are finalized you will receive an invoice after which any products will be ordered and the editing process will begin. Your finished images and any selected artwork will then be delivered with care.
